I'm looking to choose between a GTX 1060 (3GB) and a GTX 1050 Ti (4GB) I found on Facebook Marketplace. I planned to buy an RX 550 initially, but these options are tempting. My PC is pretty outdated and I know I'll need to upgrade the power supply and motherboard soon. I'm wondering if it's worth investing in a more powerful GPU right now or if I should wait until I can upgrade my whole system. I mainly want to play games from before 2020 and possibly some newer titles, but nothing too demanding.

Honestly, $77 sounds a bit much for the 3GB version of the 1060. You might find the 6GB variant for less online. Just a thought!
Both options aren't great in my opinion. I'd recommend the RX 580 with 8GB instead. It matches the performance of the 1060 6GB but offers more VRAM, which can help with gaming longevity.
The prices of these older cards are ramping up because people want low-power options. If you can, wait it out for a better deal or a newer model. Just my two cents!
You should skip both of these GPUs and consider getting a console like an Xbox Series X or a PS5 instead. Neither of these cards are really powerful anymore, and if you're going to upgrade your whole system soon, you might as well invest in more modern components like an RX 6600 or GTX 3050/3060.
I get what you’re saying, but calling them "terrible" seems a bit extreme! For older games, they still get the job done well enough. Thanks for the suggestion, though.
