Hey everyone! I'm excited to finally upgrade my 8-year-old PC and I'm planning to spend a decent amount to ensure it will last. However, I'm open to saving some money where possible. I've put together a list of components after some research, but I have a few questions: 1. **CPU**: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D 4.3 GHz 16-Core Processor - This one feels solid to me. 2. **CPU Cooler**: Xilence M705D - Is this cooler sufficient? I currently have it from my last setup, bought about a year ago. 3. **Motherboard**: Gigabyte B850 AORUS ELITE WIFI7 - I'm a bit uncertain about this one. Some suggest it's not the best for the 5xxx series GPU—why is that? Recommendations for something under $350 would be great! 4. **RAM**: Crucial Pro Overclocking 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR5-6400 CL32 - I'd love to go for 64GB, but the price is just too steep at the moment. 5. **Storage**: I'm reusing an old 4 TB HDD and an ADATA 512GB SSD, but adding a new Samsung 990 Pro 2TB M.2 for my main Windows drive. 6. **GPU**: Gigabyte GAMING OC GeForce RTX 5080 16GB - Kind of a splurge, but it's my upgrade from the 2070 Super. 7. **Case**: Lian Li LANCOOL 216 ATX Mid Tower - Can't find many options locally; is this a safe bet? 8. **Power Supply**: EVGA SuperNOVA 1000 G5 1000W - From my current setup, it should be adequate. I'm ordering everything (except the case) from Amazon since local prices are terrible. Am I missing anything or overlooking an important detail?

You might want to switch your motherboard to a higher-end model, like the Gigabyte X870E AORUS PRO, especially if you’re using the Ryzen 9 9950X3D. It’ll provide better performance overall. Just ensure your CPU cooler is compatible with AM5 sockets if you’re going that route. Also, if you’re looking for value on your cooler, check out the Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 SE—it’s a solid alternative!

Thanks for the tip! What advantages does that new motherboard have? Also, I currently have the Xilence M705D from my Intel setup, which should fit the AMD mount, right?
