Suggestions for Replacing a Fried Motherboard and CPU

My wife's PC recently experienced a meltdown where the motherboard may have taken down the CPU with it. I'm looking for recommendations on good replacement options. The original components are only six months old, so I'm also curious if there's a chance to get them replaced under warranty or RMA. We mainly use this desktop for Adobe Photoshop photo editing and some light gaming. We're based in Florida, USA, and here's a list of the current parts: AMD Ryzen 5 9600X, ASRock B850M-X WiFi motherboard, 48 GB DDR5 memory, and a Radeon RX 9060 XT graphics card. Any thoughts on replacements or warranty processes would be super helpful!

If it was indeed an ASRock board, I recommend filing an RMA right away. Their boards have a reputation for causing issues like this. Stick with a reliable brand when choosing your next motherboard, like Gigabyte or MSI.

Before you jump to conclusions about the CPU being faulty, what signs are leading you to think that? It could be something minor. Did the system just turn off suddenly during use? If it has POST lights indicating issues with the CPU or DRAM, that could point to a different problem.

You might want to steer clear of ASRock motherboards in the future. I suggest going for something from the MSI MAG series or an ASUS or Gigabyte board instead. They tend to be more reliable. For now, consider the Gigabyte B650M Gaming WiFi as a solid alternative that won't break the bank.
