I'm new to Linux and switched from Windows this year. I'm using a Lenovo IdeaPad 1 14IAU7 laptop with a 12th Gen Intel Core i3 processor. I started out with Ubuntu but I'm curious about trying out another Linux distribution in the future. Most of my work involves office tasks, and I occasionally play retro games like Doom, but I'm not heavy on gaming. What Linux distro would you recommend for someone like me?

Ubuntu isn’t bad at all! There are plenty of distros out there, so it really depends on what you're interested in. If you want something that's low on resources but still looks great, try MX Linux. If you prioritize stability, you might want to check out Debian. And for gaming, Bazzite seems to be an excellent option!
Mint is a solid choice! Since it’s based on Ubuntu, you'll find it quite familiar. It has a lot of useful tools right from the get-go, like a Software Manager for app installations, which is similar to the Microsoft Store. It also simplifies driver installations—just a couple of clicks and you're good to go. Honestly, it's pretty much 'plug and play' just like Windows.
If you want a more modern experience, consider Fedora for newer applications. But if you're looking for performance, CachyOS is worth trying for better optimization. Just a heads-up, as you move between distros, some package manager support might change and you'll need to follow different tutorials. So pick one that suits your preferences without compromising on what you enjoy!
Check out Bazzite! I just switched to it a couple of days ago and it’s super easy to use. It looks a lot like Windows in terms of appearance and functionality, and it has a store that’s quite handy for installing programs. It might be good for your office work, though I can't say for sure how it stacks up against others because I'm still figuring everything out.
