Hey everyone, I'm having an issue with my computer where it sometimes takes a really long time to boot. Here's what I'm working with:
- ASUS TUF Gaming RTX 5070 Ti
- Ryzen 9800X3D
- Phantom Spirit 120SE
- 32GB G.Skill Flare X5 RAM
- MSI B850 Tomahawk Max WiFi motherboard
- SSDs: 2 x WD SN850X 1TB and 4TB.
When I start my PC, the fans spin, but the peripherals stay off and the display doesn't detect anything. It can take up to 5 minutes before the MSI logo shows up, and then it finally boots into Windows. This doesn't happen every time; it's about once every 7 boots, which is really frustrating. I'm not sure how to diagnose the issue since it's intermittent. I've also noticed that it sometimes occurs after waking from sleep mode. I updated the BIOS when I first set the PC up last November, and there's been a newer version released in January. Should I update it again?

It sounds like your issue could be related to memory training, which can happen with DDR5 memory. It's normal for the motherboard to do this occasionally. Make sure that context restore is enabled in your BIOS settings, and updating your BIOS could help improve the boot time overall, especially if the new version has optimizations for it.
Five minutes is pretty excessive for booting up. I’ve got an AM5 setup too without context restore enabled, and I boot up in around 60 seconds. Since you mentioned it happens only once in a while, what do your usual boot times look like on good days?
