I'm having a frustrating issue with online mapping services like Google Maps and Bing Maps, which consistently show me located in San Jose, California, even though I'm actually on the other side of the country in eastern Pennsylvania. This has been happening for quite some time. The Windows weather app also incorrectly identifies my location as San Jose. However, my Gmail activity log and an IP location check confirm that I'm in Pennsylvania. Interestingly, when I use a different computer on the same network, it correctly identifies my location. Even ChatGPT through my browser shows the right place. I've tried multiple browsers (Chrome, Firefox, and Edge) on my main computer, and I'm running Windows 11 Pro. I also have Sonicwall VPN software installed, but it wasn't active or connected when I checked. Can anyone help me figure out why my mapping sites are getting it wrong?

Geolocation isn't always spot-on. It might help to report the wrong location to Google and Microsoft. They can sometimes correct these issues on their end.
It could be linked to the Windows weather app. If it's set to a wrong location, it might impact other location services. Try setting it to a default location and see if that resolves the issue in other apps.
Double-check your browser's location permissions. If they're turned off, it could default to a wrong location. You mentioned getting pop-ups—did you allow them for all sites?
Yes, I've hit allow, but it still shows California.
Check your ISP and see if they have any issues with geolocation. Sometimes, your provider may route data in a way that confuses these services. If you're using Xfinity, maybe contact them about the issue.
I have Xfinity, but I've never had this problem before.
Have you checked your computer's time zone settings? Sometimes if your time zone is incorrect, it can mess up location detection on those mapping sites. You might want to set it to Eastern Time and see if that helps.
I already checked, and everything's set to Eastern Time.

I've done that. Setting the weather app to detect my location takes me back to California.
