I'm looking for solutions to prevent contractors from accessing sensitive files while they use Microsoft Teams logged in with their company accounts. We want to ensure there's no accidental saving of OAuth sessions or access to competitor files. I've heard about virtual machines, but that seems overkill for this situation. Is there any isolation software for Windows that can effectively sandbox Teams to keep it from accessing local files and mapped drives? I found Sandboxie, but it doesn't inspire confidence.

It's tough to prevent access to local files when using Teams on the same machine. Are you sure isolating the Teams client will actually protect your company’s information? You could end up with all kinds of unintended sync issues across browsers and where people unintentionally mix up logins.

That's where OAuth can get tricky. Once Teams is installed, it creates a login session that might lead to files syncing improperly if users aren't careful about their logins.
