Hey everyone! I'm having a weird problem with my PC. It keeps freezing on me unexpectedly, and the only way to turn it off is to hold the power button for 30 seconds or unplug it from the power source. I got this PC less than a year ago and I primarily notice the issue when I'm browsing or just using the desktop, not while gaming. Sometimes it will be fine for two days, but then freeze up only five minutes after I start using it again.

Have you checked if you’re using the curve optimizer? That might be causing some instability. Also, take a look in the Event Viewer (just right-click on Start and find it). Check under Windows Logs > System to see if there are any errors that pop up when it freezes. Since it's freezing under light use, it could be that your CPU is boosting too quickly without enough stability.
You should definitely investigate the RAM and PSU too. RAM issues usually show up consistently with certain crash codes, but a failing PSU can cause random freezes. I’d recommend booting from a Linux live USB and seeing if the freezing persists there. If it runs smoothly, it might suggest a problem with your Windows installation or drivers. If you suspect the RAM, try testing it by removing one stick at a time to see if that helps.
I just went through a similar freezing issue! I noticed it happened more often when I left Steam running in the tray after closing games. I’m not sure why, but it could be worth checking if any specific programs might be causing the issue.
