Is the Price Difference Worth It Between the 5600 and 5600X?

I'm trying to figure out how close in price the 5600X should be compared to the 5600 to make it worth picking the 5600X instead. Can anyone share their thoughts on price differences that would make the 5600X a better choice?

The price difference should be pretty narrow. When it was around $10 to $20 more, choosing the 5600X was an obvious choice since it fit well into total build costs. Right now, though, with supply issues, if it’s more than $40 difference, I’d skip it. For 1440p gaming, it likely isn't worth the extra cash, but for 1080p, you might consider it, but I'd still prefer to invest in a better GPU instead.

Honestly, I just choose the cheapest option between the 5600, 5600T, and 5600X because they’re all pretty much the same CPU with minor clock speed differences. So for me, it’s all about finding the best deal at the moment.

It really depends on how you define value. If the 5600X is just a bit faster, a small price hike (like around 5%) makes sense. But when you consider the overall platform costs, like the motherboard and RAM, the extra cost for the 5600X should ideally be minimal, like $25 max. It’s all about where you place your value.
