I'm experiencing frame drops and low average FPS in every game I play. For instance, in Rainbow Six Siege, I notice that even when I set the game to max settings, it still lags, and when I switch to low settings, the lag is just as bad. I'm using an RTX 4050 laptop GPU, and I'm wondering what might be causing this issue.

What do you mean exactly by lag? It's interesting that lowering the settings doesn't change your performance at all; that might indicate the problem isn't with your GPU.
Games! LOL.
There could be several reasons for your lag. I recommend checking your laptop’s thermals and making sure your drivers are up to date. The manufacturer usually offers a driver lookup tool that you can use with your serial number.
Are you noticing lag in multiplayer mode, single-player, or both?
Are your CPU temperatures normal or are you experiencing any throttling issues?
