Hey everyone! I have a Super Flower Leadex III GL 850W PSU powering an Asus Prime OC RX 9070 XT GPU. Right now, I'm using the two PCIe 6+2 pin cables that came with the PSU, but one of them has a pigtail that connects to two ports on the GPU. I'd really prefer to use three separate cables instead. I was thinking about using an additional PCIe 6+2 cable from an older Super Flower Leadex II 650W PSU I have lying around. I've heard mixed opinions on whether this is a good idea, so I'm looking for some advice. Thanks!

Definitely don't mix those cables! You’re already fine with the setup you have since the 9070 XT only pulls about 330W max, and each PCIe cable can handle around 150W plus 75W from the slot. So while it’s good to run separate cables, you shouldn't really have issues with your current connections as long as everything is rated well.
I wouldn't mix cables from different PSUs. Even if they look similar, there can be differences in wiring and pinouts which could risk damaging your GPU. With a $700 card on the line, it's better to be safe than sorry!
Thanks for the heads up!
You should be cautious. It's standard practice to keep cables from different PSUs separate. Those cables may not be wired the same, and you definitely don’t want to accidentally connect +12V to ground, which could fry your components!

I appreciate your input. I'm thinking of adding that third cable because I've been experiencing driver timeouts due to power spikes. I've heard other users have had similar problems with pigtails on this card.
