Hey everyone! I'm finally ready to upgrade my 13-year-old computer and I'm thinking about building a new setup with the 9950x3d. I'm trying to decide between the MSI MPG X870E EDGE TI WIFI and the MSI MPG B850 EDGE TI WIFI motherboards.
The X870E has more high-speed USB ports on the back, including two USB4 ports. However, if I install two NVMe PCI 5.0 SSDs, I'd lose access to those USB4 ports, which seems like a drawback. On the other hand, the B850 has fewer USB ports, but it comes with three USB-C (not 4.0) ports and lets me install two NVMe 5.0 SSDs without any issues.
So, how is the X870E better? I see a lot of buzz around it compared to the B850. Did I miss some significant differences between these boards?

From what I've seen, the X870E's extra features like USB4 are great if you plan to use high-bandwidth devices. I chose the B850 because I didn’t need those extra features. I did run into a lack of USB ports but a hub fixed that for me. So it really depends if you think you’ll use USB4.
I doubt I'll need USB4, as I only have a few devices like a mouse, keyboard, and sound card. Are there any other standout features of the X870E that I should be aware of?
