Hey everyone! I just ordered parts for my first custom build and I'm really excited. I'm going with an AMD AM5 setup using a Ryzen 5 9600X, paired with a GIGABYTE B650M GAMING PLUS motherboard and a Gigabyte GeForce RTX 5060 Ti. I also got a be quiet! CPU cooler and a good amount of RAM—64GB of Corsair Vengeance DDR5 to be exact.
Here's a rundown of my specs:
- Motherboard: GIGABYTE B650M GAMING PLUS WIFI AM5
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 9600X
- CPU Cooler: be quiet! Pure Rock 2
- Case: MONTECH XR Wood
- PSU: MSI MAG A650GL
- RAM: CORSAIR Vengeance RGB 64GB DDR5 6000
- SSD: Crucial P310 1TB NVMe
- GPU: Gigabyte GeForce RTX 5060 Ti
- OS: Windows 11 Home
I'm just looking for some insight into what to expect during the installation and how this setup will perform. Thanks for any tips you can share!

This setup should run games beautifully! Just make sure to check all your cables during installation. It can be a bit overwhelming, but just take it step by step. Also, don’t forget to update your BIOS and drivers once everything’s up and running. Enjoy your build!
Everything you've picked is compatible, so you're in good shape! Just a heads up—while 64GB of RAM is great, for gaming purposes, 32GB is usually more than enough. Also, if you want to save a bit on cooling, a larger CPU cooler like the Thermalright Phantom Spirit might be a good idea. As for your power supply, consider an ATX 3.1 PCIe 5.1 PSU for better performance with the 5060 Ti. The CORSAIR RM750e is a solid option.
Thanks for the advice! I appreciate the tips on the PSU and cooler. I’ll definitely look into those!
