Upgrading My Gaming PC: What Should I Keep and What Should I Upgrade?

I'm looking to seriously upgrade my gaming PC and need some advice on what components to keep and what to upgrade. Right now, I'm still on Windows 10 because my CPU doesn't meet the requirements for Windows 11. I built my setup in 2020, and it's definitely time for an upgrade. I'm hoping to keep my upgrade budget under $1,500. Here's what I currently have:

* Motherboard: B450 Tomahawk MAX II
* CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600
* RAM: G.SKILL DDR4 16GB
* Storage: Crucial P1 1TB SSD
* Power Supply: Corsair CX 650 Watt 80 Plus
* GPU: GeForce RTX 2060 6GB

I really want to upgrade my CPU and GPU, but I'm unsure if I need to change anything else. Right now, I'm gaming at 1080p, but I want to start using my 1440p monitor and get at least 80+ FPS at that resolution. Any advice on how to proceed would be greatly appreciated!

Actually, your Ryzen 5 3600 is technically compatible with Windows 11! You might just need to tweak some BIOS settings. Don't stress too much about that if you're planning to upgrade anyway, but it might be good to figure it out so you can get the most out of your current setup until you upgrade.

Thanks for the heads up! Any tips on what settings I should look for in the BIOS to help with that?

I'd suggest keeping your motherboard and RAM for now since your motherboard supports 3rd gen Ryzen. A good upgrade for your CPU would be to go for either a Ryzen 5 5700X or 5800X. For the GPU, I’d recommend something like the RTX 3060 Ti, which should handle 1440p gaming much better. But check if your PSU can handle the new GPU power requirements!
