I'm currently stuck on an AM4 platform with a Ryzen 5 3600 and 32GB of 3200MHz RAM. My house is under renovation, and I'm planning to build a nearly new gaming PC by late 2026, including a Ryzen 9 5900X. There's a used 4070 available locally for $508, but I'm wondering if I should grab it now before prices rise or just hold off until my renovations are finished. What do you all think?

Honestly, unless you’re planning for some serious 2K or 4K gaming, the 4070 might be overkill. You should consider saving up for an AM5 setup; it could give you better long-term benefits.
$500 feels a bit steep for a 4070. You might be better off waiting and getting a new PC build instead.
I'm aiming for both 1440p gaming and content creation. I think the Ryzen 9 5900X will be great for that, but the timing of the GPU upgrade is tricky.
I’d recommend focusing on your house renovations first. You need somewhere to live for gaming. Plus, GPU prices are starting to drop, so you might not need to rush into a purchase just yet.
Buying a GPU just to avoid potential price hikes isn’t a great strategy. Make sure to evaluate the games you're playing now and what you might play in the next couple of years. You'll want to upgrade to something that really fits your needs.
