I'm having a bit of trouble with file renaming on my Android tablet. As an artist, I take a lot of photos, edit them, and need to upload them to different applications. I usually store everything in Google Drive. Here's the challenge: some apps require specific file names, like 'lastname1artwork.jpg'. I figured this would be simple—just upload the jpgs from my photo gallery to Google Drive and rename them. However, when I try to upload those renamed files, I get an 'upload failed' error, even though the images are the right size and still have the .jpg extension. There's no special characters or spaces in the names, either. I even tried shortening the names, but that didn't work. I went back to submit the original images from my photo gallery, and those uploaded without a hitch, but they don't have the required naming convention. Additionally, I can't seem to find a way to rename files directly from my photo gallery. Could this be due to using a tablet instead of a computer? I could really use some help!

It sounds like a bit of a hassle! For renaming files, make sure you're using a file manager app rather than just the gallery app, which is more for viewing. Most tablets have a built-in 'Files' app where you should be able to rename your images. The 'upload failed' issue could happen for a number of reasons, often related to how Google Drive handles photo formats. Sometimes it uploads lower-quality versions or something the other apps can't recognize. You might want to try renaming the files directly in that 'Files' app to make sure you're uploading the right format. It's definitely a learning curve, but once you get it, you'll feel way more confident!
You might be doing things the roundabout way by uploading through Google Drive. Try using the file manager that comes with your tablet to rename those images directly on your device before uploading them. You can find the option usually under a 'more' or 'options' menu. Just remember, sometimes those uploading errors can stem from how the Android system compresses images. If something still seems off, reading up on how file management works on Android devices could really boost your tech game. Good luck!
I appreciate the advice! I'll definitely check the file manager options and see if renaming works there.

Thanks for the tips! I thought I was doing everything right with Google Drive, but I guess the 'Files' app is the way to go.
