I have an older Dell Latitude 7410 that I'd like to use, but it's locked with a BIOS password from my previous job. I tried to retrieve the master password but wasn't successful. I'm looking for ways to reset the BIOS password without having to reach out to Dell or my former workplace. The system number ends with 8FC8. Any advice would be appreciated!

You could try contacting Dell support; they might be willing to assist you with unlocking the BIOS. If that doesn't work, you might want to check out a couple of resources I found. There's a BIOS password patcher available at BadCaps.net for Dell systems with that suffix, as well as a tool on GitHub. Just be aware that these methods require a bit of technical skill!

I've tested the BIOS patcher personally, and it does work! Just a heads up, it's not for beginners—you’ll need a Raspberry Pi and some clip-on clamps for the BIOS chip to proceed. I followed a YouTube tutorial that helped me back up the current BIOS and then reflash it to remove the password.
