Why is my laptop’s disk space disappearing rapidly after downloading AutoCAD?

I have a Windows 11 laptop, and I recently tried to get AutoCAD 2022 for my engineering semester. After downloading it in a not-so-legal way, I noticed that the 100GB of free space I had was disappearing at an alarming rate. In just 10 minutes, I was down to 70GB. I powered off my laptop to stop it. How do I fix this?

It's possible you may have inadvertently downloaded some software that's eating up your storage. I'd recommend backing up any important files just in case. Try leaving your laptop on to see if the storage situation improves. If it stays the same, you might want to consider formatting your hard drive or taking it to a repair shop for further analysis.

That's solid advice! It's always good to back up first. And if you don't feel comfortable formatting it yourself, a pro can help figure out what's going on.

The best bet is to back up your data, format your PC, and perform a clean installation of Windows. It's always a good idea to be careful while downloading anything off the web to avoid issues like this in the future.

Make sure to check for any unfamiliar programs or processes that could be hogging your disk space. In the future, be cautious when downloading such tools. Running a virus scanner can help catch any hidden issues too.

Definitely! Scanning for viruses is a must after such downloads. You want to ensure your system's health is intact.
