I'm looking for recommendations on Linux distros for my aging 1080Ti graphics card. Official support for this card has ended, which complicates things a bit. I believe the card still has a lot to offer, especially for the games I enjoy, so I want to keep using it instead of retiring it. I was considering Nobara because it's very gaming-friendly and based on Fedora, which I'm familiar with. However, I've heard that Nobara doesn't play well with the 1080Ti anymore. I'm hoping for some good distro suggestions, but I'd like to avoid Bazzite since I already have that on another machine.

Using Mint with my own 1080Ti has been a breeze! It runs flawlessly and it's user-friendly. Plus, it gives you options for driver installation. Garuda also has a good reputation, especially with graphics cards.
Have you checked out CachyOS? It's getting a lot of attention lately and supports older drivers, which could be ideal for your setup!
Arch Linux is another solid choice. Despite the end of official support, many users still find it compatible with modern kernels. It’s worth considering if you're comfortable with a bit of tinkering.
I've been running Mint with a 3770k and my 1080Ti, and it’s been fantastic! No issues at all, and CachyOS is also performing nicely. You might want to give those a shot!
Arch-based distros might be the way to go. Especially CachyOS as it simplifies driver installation from the AUR, which is great for your card. Plus, with vanilla Arch, you get to pick the drivers you need!
