Strange Sounds and Voices from My Laptop – What’s Happening?

I was studying on my Windows 11 laptop, and out of nowhere, I heard random sounds followed by a Chinese voice. There wasn't anything playing like YouTube, and I had only the Brave browser and Microsoft Teams open. I quickly checked the Task Manager and saw a process for 'Python' running that I didn't recognize, so I ended that task, but the sounds continued. Feeling panicked, I disabled the WiFi, and that stopped the sounds. I ran a Malwarebytes scan, but it came back clean, and I'm currently running a Windows Defender scan too. I'm really stressed—could someone have accessed my data, or do I need to do a full reset? I set up everything carefully since I just got this laptop three months ago, and I don't even use a Microsoft Account—just a local setup. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

It could be tricky, but many people have experienced similar things. Sometimes, it’s just an app acting weird, but everyone suggests being safe rather than sorry. If you're not comfortable with tech stuff, find a friend who knows more about malware and system restores.

It sounds scary, but don't panic too much! That random noise could just be a glitch or some strange app behavior. I'd suggest uninstalling Python since you didn’t install it intentionally; some apps might use it without your knowledge. Just to be safe, consider doing a full system scan with any available antivirus and also check your startup applications.

I think the safest route would be to back up your important files and then reinstall Windows. If you didn't intentionally install Python, it might be worth getting rid of it. Make sure to carefully check your data after that to ensure everything's clean.

Totally get why you're stressed about this! Changing your system can lead to data loss, so back up everything first. If you’re questioning security, a reinstall might be the best route, especially if you haven't installed Python. Just double-check everything afterward!
