I've been having a weird problem lately. My fuse blows immediately when I plug in my PC, even before I turn it on. From what I've seen, most people report fuses blowing when the PC starts up, but mine does it as soon as it's plugged into the outlet. I'm suspecting that the power supply unit (PSU) might be the culprit, but I'm not entirely sure. If I buy a new PSU, will that likely fix the issue, or is it possible that I might have to replace the whole PC? That would be a bummer since my computer is about 7 years old and was working just fine until yesterday. It was connected to a power strip, and after the fuse blew, the power was okay. Today, when I turned on the power strip again, the fuse blew again. I tried testing with a new cable and plugged it directly into the wall, but the same issue occurred. I want to be cautious and avoid making things worse, so I've unplugged everything and I'm looking for some advice. Thanks for your help!

I agree, it’s probably the PSU. But check for any ground faults too. If power is shorting through the case, it could be causing your fuse to blow.
Just a heads up, make sure to clarify what you mean by 'fuse.' Are you talking about a circuit breaker tripping, or is it the actual fuse in your plug? That makes a big difference in diagnosing the issue!
I mean, it could be the cable too, but since you’ve tested a new one with no change, I’d lean towards the PSU being the problem.

Yeah, I suspected that too. I'm hoping it’s just the PSU and not something more complicated!
