I've recently started managing patches and I've run into some hiccups with the March 2026 security update for Windows. A lot of devices I've checked aren't downloading or installing it, and it fails for reasons I can't quite figure out. Is this a common problem with Windows updates?

It’s tough to say without knowing your patching process. I’ve had no issues using Ivanti so far, but I guess it really depends on how you’re handling updates.
I haven’t had any issues with the servers so far. Running Windows Server 2025 with Hyper-V has been smooth, and 2019-2022 servers are fine too!
We’ve been using Intune and Kaseya for our patches, but the last couple of weeks have been a real struggle. Updates are hanging up at 97% and then fail, which can take an hour to revert. So far, it’s only hit about 10% of our machines, but it’s been a hassle!
Just a heads up, Microsoft did roll out an emergency patch to fix some problems caused by the latest update that affected several Microsoft applications.
Make sure your devices have at least 10GB of free space! I’ve seen failures happen when there isn’t enough space for the updates.
Do you know which KB number you’re having trouble with? My Ninja system seems to be patching without any problems.
