Why is my Intel AX201 always showing “connected, no internet”?

I'm experiencing a frequent issue with my 2021 Acer Nitro N50-620 where it keeps saying it's connected but has no internet access. The WiFi adapter is an Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX201 and I'm running Windows 11. Lately, instead of getting a proper IP address, I'm stuck with 169.254, indicating a DHCP failure. I can't even ping the gateway when this happens. The WiFi signal is always strong, connecting at speeds around 2400 Mbps. This issue occurs on both my home WiFi network and my iPhone hotspot. I've tried reinstalling drivers, disabling power saving features, performing a network reset, making DNS changes, and doing a full power reset, which used to help for a while but no longer seems effective. I'm wondering if this suggests a failure with the AX201 or if it might be a motherboard issue. Do you think it's worth upgrading to an AX210 or going for a PCIe option instead?

Have you tried rebooting your router? Sometimes a simple restart can fix these DHCP issues. Also, here’s a link that might help with the 169.254 issue: [how to fix DHCP failure](https://oneuptime.com/blog/post/2026-03-20-fix-apipa-169-254-address/view). It might be worth checking that out!

I’ll check that link out for sure! The router should be fine since all my other devices work perfectly. It’s strange my PC is having these problems though, considering it’s only 5 years old. Any recommendations for a better chip?
