I'm starting my degree in a month, and I've learned the basics of Python and can create simple projects. I'm wondering if I should focus on finding an internship when college starts, or if I should just attend college. I'm trying to decide which path would be better for my career.

Ideally, you should pursue both college and an internship. Just keep in mind that if you don’t have a strong foundation, you might find it tough, especially with how advanced some tools are now.
If you believe internships are easy to come by in your area, go for it! Gaining experience is invaluable, and if it doesn’t work out, you can always go to college afterward. Just be aware that many people struggle to find internships, so if you have the chance, take it!
Why not try to do both? Having a degree while working part-time can really complement your learning and give you practical experience at the same time!
I suggest focusing on your first couple of years in college to strengthen your knowledge and then look for internships. It can be overwhelming to jump into an internship with too little background, though you can learn a lot on the job. Plus, try and build a portfolio with your projects to help in landing a good internship later.
Don’t feel pressured to pick one over the other. College helps you build your fundamental knowledge, while internships give you real-world experience. If you can balance both without burning out, that's the best situation. Just make sure to look for internships that genuinely offer guidance and learning opportunities; a poor experience could end up being a waste.

That sounds great, but finding a part-time job can be tough. Usually, full-time internships are more feasible.
