Why is my RTX 5060 Ti underperforming so much?

I'm having major issues with my RTX 5060 Ti. It's only drawing around 50–90W while gaming and despite showing 100% usage, its performance is worse than my old GTX 1060. For example, in Dota 2 at 1080p on ultra settings, I'm only getting 60–70 FPS with terrible frametimes, whereas benchmarks suggest I should see around 140 FPS with this card. I've checked my entire system: I'm using a Ryzen 5 5600, 16GB DDR4 RAM, and a 750W PSU, and temperatures are normal (around 50°C for both CPU and GPU). I've done extensive troubleshooting, including driver reinstalls and cleaning installations, but nothing seems to help. Could this be a defective GPU, or is there something I'm missing?

You should definitely be able to pull around 180W from that card. Check the temps of both your CPU and GPU — using hwinfo64 can help with monitoring those memory junction temps too.

My CPU maxes at about 53°C, so I don't think it's overheating. The GPU hits around 55°C in games, but it’s weird since it shows 100% usage at just 50W.

Honestly, it might just be time to RMA it. From what you’re describing, it sounds like a defect. It’s a bummer, but it’s probably your best bet right now.

Yeah, I think that might be the only option left. I just wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this and found a solution.

If you’re running a budget motherboard, check the BIOS settings. Try changing the PCIe link speed from auto to 2.0 and see if that makes a difference.

I’ve already tried that, unfortunately, and I didn’t see any improvements.

Have you thought about reinstalling Windows? You mentioned you tried changing driver versions, which is good, but a clean install could really help rule out software issues.

I just reset Windows and that didn’t help. I even reinstalled the current version, but the problem persists.

If you're coming from a Radeon GPU, a fresh Windows install might be worth it just to eliminate any leftover drivers. That could fix the issues you're facing, even after using DDU.

I reset Windows, and it still didn't help. I'm starting to think it's definitely a hardware issue.
