I'm a complete beginner and it's been a head-scratcher! I recently installed Linux Mint smoothly on my old Dell Latitude, so I thought I'd give it a shot on my new MSI Crosshair 18 HX laptop. However, I'm running into issues. After getting through the initial steps, I keep getting a message saying there's not enough SSD space for the install. It's like the installer is only recognizing the flash drive and ignoring the 1TB hard drive that's actually available. I've dabbled in the BIOS settings a bit, including messing with boot priorities and disabling secure boot, but nothing seems to work. Is there something specific to this laptop or have I just missed an obvious step? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Check out the BIOS manual for your laptop. There's a setting called "Enable VMD controller"—try turning that off! It might help with the SSD recognition issue.

Thanks for the tip! I did find that setting, but it's greyed out for me and I can't disable it. Appreciate your help!
