I just built a new gaming rig with an RTX 5070 and a Ryzen 7 5700X. I've noticed my CPU temperatures fluctuate quite a bit, but they never exceed 70°C. However, during a loading screen in the game Days Gone, it spiked to 82°C before dropping back down. I'm currently using an RGB Wraith Prism cooler. Should I consider upgrading to a dual tower cooler to manage these temperatures better?

A dual tower cooler would definitely help lower your temperatures. However, the temps you've mentioned aren't really a cause for concern as they are still within the safe range for most CPUs. Have you tried running a stress test like Cinebench to see how it performs under load?
As long as you're not nearing 90°C during heavy use, everything should be fine. At this point, your setup is handling things nicely, so upgrading coolers isn't urgent unless you want lower temps or some extra headroom.
82°C is actually a pretty normal temperature for CPUs under load. While a better cooler like a dual tower would improve cooling efficiency, you probably won’t see any noticeable performance boost unless you start hitting higher temps regularly.
You're fine at 82°C; no need to worry yet. CPUs can handle up to 100°C, and as long as you're not regularly hitting 90°C during stress tests, you're all good! A better cooler might reduce temps, but you're not in any danger right now.
