I'm currently running a Ryzen 5 5600, with 16GB DDR4 RAM and a GTX 1080. I saw an RTX 5080 for 250€ on discount—can anyone tell me if it's a good upgrade?

Honestly, I’d be cautious here. If it's the 5080, no way it’s only 250€. Are you talking about the 5060? If so, I'd say the 9060XT might be a better choice because of its PCIe x16 and slightly better performance, especially if you can stretch your budget for the 16GB version instead of the 8GB.

Also, remember that the RTX 5080 should actually have 16GB of memory. So, I wonder what card you really found for that price.

Yeah, I didn't catch that initially—I guess I need my glasses!

I think there might be a mix-up here. Are you sure you mean the RTX 5080? I’ve never seen it at that price—maybe you're looking at the RTX 5060? If that's the case, definitely go for it! The 5060 would be a huge upgrade, close to double the performance, plus you'll get all the benefits of DLSS for upscaling and frame generation.

Sounds like a clearance find to me, but just double-check it!
