I'm having a problem with my laptop where the screen works perfectly until I log into my account. After logging in, it goes completely black, and I can only see the mouse cursor. The only thing I can do is access the sound and connectivity options with FN+F1, but that's not helping. I have an important presentation tomorrow and really need to fix this. Any ideas?

I experienced something similar once, and it turned out to be a graphics driver issue. If you can get in via safe mode, try uninstalling the graphics drivers and then reboot. Windows should automatically reinstall them. It helped me get my screen back!
Have you tried restarting your laptop from the login screen? Instead of shutting it down, look for the Restart option which can sometimes solve these kinds of issues. It’s a quick fix worth trying before diving deeper into troubleshooting!
