Hey everyone! I'm Matt, and I'm pretty new to the gaming PC scene. I'm looking to build a PC for under $600 CAD. I mainly play games like Minecraft, and I also need it for work and watching Netflix. I was considering getting a Mac mini, but I've heard that a gaming PC could be a better investment in the long run. I'm not too concerned about playing the latest heavy-duty games; I just want something that runs smoothly without breaking the bank. I'm not sure if it's more cost-effective to build a PC or buy a used one, so any advice on that would be super helpful. Additionally, recommendations for where to buy parts would be awesome! Thanks a ton for your help!

I’d suggest checking the used market. It’ll be tough to find new parts for $600 CAD, but if you’re open to getting a used PC or parts, you can find some good deals. If you can stretch your budget a bit, even to $1,000, it’ll make the process much easier!
Definitely check sites like Facebook Marketplace for local deals!
With your budget, going for a used machine is probably your best bet. New parts at that price will lead to a slower build than you can get from a secondhand PC. I have some recommendations, but overall, aim for a used setup. Just be cautious and check for good condition before you buy!
Thanks for the heads-up! I’ll definitely look for used options.

Thank you for the advice! I might be able to push my budget up a bit.
