Is the RX 9070 XT and Ryzen 7 9850X3D the best choice for a new PC build?

I went to a store looking to upgrade my existing PC, but the sales rep suggested I build a new one instead. Currently, I have an AMD Ryzen 5 3600 CPU, a GeForce RTX 3070 GPU, a prime B450-Plus motherboard, and 16GB of G.SKILL RAM. I'm mainly a Rainbow Six Siege player and I know it's pretty CPU-intensive. I got a quote for a new setup that includes an AMD Ryzen 7 9850X3D, AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT, ASUS X670-P motherboard, 32GB Corsair DDR5 RAM, and a 850W modular power supply. I'm looking for advice on whether this combo is optimal in terms of performance and price, especially compared to the Ryzen 700 series, as I've heard it may be slightly less powerful. I also considered going for a smaller ITX build but I've been told that the Ryzen 7 might run too hot for that. If there's a better setup that lets me keep an ITX form factor without losing performance, I'd love to hear suggestions. Lastly, I'm curious about the differences between the RX 9070 XT models from different brands as they are priced similarly. Thanks for any help!

Definitely consider a Micro ATX instead of ITX since the 9070 XT might not fit well in a small case. You’ll also need an SFX power supply for ITX boards, which can cost more. If you're after top-notch performance and savings, the Ryzen 5 7600X3D or Intel options might be good to explore!

The prices for the 9850X3D are competitive right now, and given how well it performs in gaming, it’s a great choice. You might want to check out the 7800X3D for price to performance if that's an option for you. It could save some money while still offering great performance. Regarding the GPUs, both the brands you mentioned generally perform well, but if they're the same price, I'd lean towards the Gigabyte. It's typically considered a bit more premium.

I think it’s worth mentioning that the Gigabyte can run a bit warmer. Just make sure to check reviews on thermals!

Your build looks solid for years to come! The Ryzen 7 9850X3D and RX 9070 XT will handle all current games comfortably. Just a heads up, if you're aiming for an ITX case, make sure it's spacious enough for that triple fan GPU, as ITX cases can be quite tight. But in general, I think upgrading now is smart before prices spike further!

I looked around too, and many ITX cases are just too small for the RX 9070 XT. Even though my old build is aging, it's still holding up. If you're upgrading, doing it now makes sense!

That setup should last at least 4-5 years before you have to lower settings significantly. The CPU will likely still be relevant for a long time!

I've built ITX before. The NZXT H-series has cases that fit triple fan GPUs. Just double-check the dimensions!
