I'm looking to upgrade my PC to a total of 32GB of DDR5 RAM without breaking the bank. How can I identify my current RAM stick so I can find a compatible one for the upgrade?

To figure out your exact RAM stick, just check the model number printed on its label. If you're running Windows, you can also use a program called CPU-Z and look under the SPD tab for details about your RAM.

For the best results, take your RAM stick out and check the sticker on it. However, mixing different kits isn’t usually recommended, as it might cause boot issues. Just be cautious with that approach!

I've seen computers running fine with different brands and speeds mixed together. It's not ideal, but it doesn't always lead to failures.

Mixing different RAM sticks can work, but keep in mind you need to match the timings. If one RAM stick is faster than the other, you would need to run them at the speed of the slower one.

You don’t actually need the exact same RAM stick! As long as you match the speed, timings, and voltage of your current stick, you should be good to go. CPU-Z is your friend for checking all that info!

If you want a quick way to find out what you have, just open up your PC and look at the RAM directly. The information you need is usually on a sticker on the side.
