Hey everyone, I'm completely new to the Linux world and have just built a new PC after my old one gave up on me. I'm transitioning from Windows 10 and I have a bunch of questions as I prepare to dive into this new operating system.

1. I've heard there are various distributions of Linux like Linux Mint and I'm not sure which one to choose. I'm mainly looking to game, particularly with Roguelite games and Tabletop Simulator. What would you recommend?

2. How do I actually get Linux installed on my new PC? I've never done this before since I used my father's computer all the time. Is it really as simple as booting from the USB drive?

3. I'd like to transfer all my data from Windows to my new Linux setup. How can I do this?

4. What antivirus should I consider for Linux?

5. Finally, what limitations should I be aware of that Linux has compared to Windows 10? I know it can't be perfect, so it'd be great to know what challenges I might face.

1. I’d recommend starting with Linux Mint; it’s user-friendly and great for beginners.

2. You’ll need to create a bootable USB drive with the Linux ISO using a tool like Rufus. Boot from it and you can try Linux directly or install it.

3. Yes, just back up your data to an external drive first, and after installing Linux, you can easily transfer it back.

4. You don’t really need an antivirus for Linux, but if you want peace of mind, ClamAV is a decent option.

5. Keep in mind that some Windows software, especially Adobe products and Microsoft Office, may not run natively. However, there are often alternatives available. Also, be prepared for a bit of a learning curve; Linux requires some hands-on tinkering!
