I recently set up a new pre-built PC for my father-in-law, but I'm encountering a frustrating issue: the disk usage is at 100% even though the only software installed is Steam and the new Call of Duty. The specs include a 2TB SSD, a 5060ti 8GB graphics card, and an Intel Ultra 7 265F processor. I performed a fresh Windows 11 installation hoping it would resolve the problem, but it persists. Task Manager doesn't show any applications consuming significant resources, so I'm stumped. Any ideas on what could be causing this?

Sounds like a couple of things might be at play here. High RAM usage, Windows search indexing, or Windows update scans can all spike disk usage. What you can do is disable Windows search indexing and see if that helps. Also check if Windows is running a background update which can hog resources. If those don't work, it could be worth testing the SSD's health to rule out any hardware issues.
Have you tried using Process Explorer? It provides more detailed information than the regular task manager. You'll have a clearer view of what's actually using disk resources. If your PC can't run browsers, consider downloading it on a USB stick and running it from there.
That's a good idea! I'll definitely look into using a USB since the PC is struggling to open anything.

I disabled Windows indexing already but it didn't help. I also tried turning off a few startup services from a video tutorial.
