Advice Needed for My First PC Build

I'm planning to build my first PC and I've put together a parts list, but I need some feedback to ensure it's suitable for my needs. I live in Canada and while I don't have a strict budget, I prefer to keep things reasonable. My main use case is light gaming at 1440p with a target of 144 FPS, although I'm okay with 90 FPS as well. I want to know if my setup is overkill or if I'm at risk of bottlenecks. Also, I'm unsure about the storage configuration—specifically, if the 128GB drive for the OS is too small or if using SATA is too slow. I'll be upgrading the RAM in the future since the current prices are quite high for 32GB (2x16). I plan to look for used parts and I'm avoiding the AM4 platform. I recently swapped the 7800 XT for a Gigabyte 5070. Here's my build: [https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/msvbXf](https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/msvbXf)

1) I recommend changing the Asrock motherboard due to reliability issues; they’ve been known to fry CPUs. 2) Consider getting just one 16GB RAM stick for now so you can easily upgrade later without mismatches. 3) Your choice of the 7800 XT is a bit outdated; look into a newer GPU like the 5070 or 9070 XT for better performance. 4) You seem to be spending a lot on peripherals; a basic $10 mouse and keyboard will do the job while spending less on the actual build. Your peripheral budget is higher than your CPU!

What motherboard do you suggest instead?

Do you already own some of those components? 4 sticks of RAM can complicate things on AM5, so think about getting a 32GB kit from the start and save some cash elsewhere. Current prices won’t drop significantly anytime soon. Definitely try to get a newer GPU if you can, something like the 9070 XT would be ideal. You don't need a dedicated smaller OS drive; just opt for a larger NVMe instead.

Avoid using the SATA drive for your OS; it will slow things down unnecessarily!
