I recently started having issues with Google Chrome, which seems to be hijacked and redirects me to a site called nextgeeker instead of Google. I can't access any malware removal tools like Malwarebytes because the hijacker won't let me open them, and even Windows Defender is unresponsive, showing just the basic "Security at a glance" without any options for a full scan. I rarely download anything sketchy and don't have any extensions installed, so I'm at a loss. I tried uninstalling Chrome the usual way, but it doesn't appear in the programs list. I also tried using Revo Installer, but Chrome still isn't showing up there. I'm looking for suggestions other than resetting my whole computer. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Have you tried downloading the Chrome installer again and running it? Sometimes, if it wasn't installed properly, that can work. After that, you should be able to uninstall it with any tool you prefer. Personally, I use BCuninstaller. It's similar to Revo but a bit more advanced since it lets you choose what to delete from the registry, which is handy for complete removal.
It sounds like you might be dealing with a browser hijacker, which isn't great at all. If you can't run antivirus software, it could indicate a deeper issue. You might want to create a bootable antivirus version from another computer and run it at startup to help get rid of those pesky hijacked files.
Just a heads-up, that 'nextgeeker' thing is likely some sort of malware. It's important to tackle that immediately before it causes more problems!
