I'm in the process of upgrading my PC and would love some feedback on my current build and upgrade plans. Here's what I have right now:
- Case: Corsair 4000D mid tower
- CPU: Ryzen 9 5950X (16 core)
- CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D14 dual radiator
- GPU: GeForce RTX 3070
- Motherboard: ROG Crosshair VIII Hero (Wi-Fi)
- RAM: 32 GB DDR4
- Storage: Samsung SSD 970 EVO
- Power Supply: Rosewill Photon 850W 80+ Gold

Now, for the upgrade path I'm considering:
- Case: Corsair 4000D mid tower (sticking with the same case)
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D (8-core, 16-thread)
- CPU Cooler: TBD
- GPU: GIGABYTE Radeon RX 9070 XT (16GB GDDR6)
- Motherboard: ASUS TUF Gaming X870E-PLUS WIFI7 (PCIe 5.0, 16+2+1 Power Stages)
- RAM: CORSAIR VENGEANCE RGB DDR5 (32GB, 6000MHz)
- Storage: TBD
- Power Supply: Autac 1000W Fully Modular 80+ Gold PSU

I want to ensure this build is good for future gaming needs and won't require further upgrading for years. Any thoughts?

It’s honestly not the best time to upgrade everything. If you don’t need to right away, maybe just upgrade your GPU for now and see how things shape up with shortages before diving into a full build overhaul.

Honestly, you have a robust build! But if you’re just swapping the GPU, you might want to look at the 5070 Ti. Nvidia's features like DLSS could be a game changer for you. Plus, that setup should let you gauge how your current system holds up for the games you want to play. If you're doing fine right now, you might even consider holding off for any big next-gen releases later on!

And don’t forget about storage—make sure you factor that into your upgrades! It’s essential for overall performance.

Why are you looking to upgrade your system? Is it mainly for more VRAM? That’s definitely a good reason! Your current CPU and GPU are still strong, but if you want to future-proof, going with that 9800X3D and RX 9070 XT will definitely give you a solid performance boost. Just make sure your cooling can handle the new CPU, and considering how hot new components can run, it might be worth upgrading your CPU cooler too!

For what it’s worth, I don't think you'll need to upgrade for at least 5 years with your current specs unless you want to play the latest AAA titles right away.
