I just got offered a 21:9 ultrawide monitor for free, but I already have two 16:9 monitors, with one being high refresh for gaming. I'm thinking about using the ultrawide for work and keeping the high refresh one for gaming. I have two gas spring monitor arms, so I'm wondering if they will adjust enough so I can keep one monitor in front of me to avoid neck strain. I know I could set everything up myself, but that usually turns into a hassle, so I'd love to hear if anyone has tried a similar setup before!

Here’s a protip for monitor setups:
1. Use a non-OLED 32" monitor in portrait mode for general browsing—it becomes your main screen.
2. Reserve the 49" 32:9 ultrawide for immersive games or creative work like video editing when applicable.
3. Have a 48" 16:9 OLED for those games or videos that don’t support the ultrawide format. It gives you the best of all worlds!
It really depends on your monitor arms, but I’d recommend positioning the 21:9 above the 16:9. It might sound odd, but you'll often want the 16:9 for gaming due to its higher refresh rate. The ultrawide will let you spread out windows or relax with wide content. Just keep in mind that having it higher could lead to some neck strain when looking up, so think about your comfort!
Yeah, that could definitely lead to eye strain! Maybe try a tilt adjustment?

That sounds complicated! How do you even move all those monitors around?
