Are 83°C Temps Normal for an RTX 3070 in 3DMark Steel Nomad?

I recently ran a test on my GPU and could use some feedback about the temperatures I'm seeing. Here are the specifics: I'm using an RTX 3070 (Zotac) paired with a Ryzen 5 5600X processor, at a resolution of 3840x1080, with an ambient temperature around 22°C. During the 3DMark Steel Nomad (DX12) test, the average GPU temperature hit around 83°C, and my score was 3048, which is slightly below the average of about 3173. There were no crashes or artifacts during the test. Is 83°C typical for this card in this benchmark, or does it seem a bit high? I'd appreciate any advice!

For a card with 2 fans, that temperature is about right. If it had 3 fans, then it might be a bit high. If you haven’t done it yet, consider a repaste and a thorough cleaning, especially since it’s been a couple of years since the 3070's release. A good rule of thumb is to repaste every 5 years to ensure good thermal conductivity.

Makes sense, it's a 2-fan Zotac. Might repaste soon, thanks!

That temp could be normal, especially if your case has average airflow. The slightly lower score might be because many people do overclock their cards, which could skew things. Definitely something to consider!

Good point about overclocks, that explains it. Thanks!

Yeah, that temperature is pretty normal for an RTX 3070 under those testing conditions. As long as you're not experiencing thermal throttling, you should be in good shape. If you want to monitor things more closely, try using HWiNFO64—it's great for tracking detailed stats on your GPU performance.

Checked HWiNFO, only minor throttling. Thanks for the tip!
