Hey everyone! I'm looking to upgrade my current PC setup. Right now, I have an i3-9100F along with a GTX 1650 Super and 16GB of DDR4 RAM. With RAM prices rising, I want to retain my existing RAM and storage for a new build that maximizes performance while staying budget-friendly. I've researched and found that the Ryzen 7 5800X priced at around 130 euros paired with the RX 9060 XT (for about 320 euros) along with a motherboard and power supply would cost me approximately 650 euros. This setup should suffice for my needs, which include Linux gaming at 1080p and some video editing. I'm not after the highest settings, just something that performs significantly better than my current system and lasts for about 5 years like my current setup has. Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer!

You're right about the RAM prices; they’re only expected to drop slightly. Keeping your DDR4 is wise right now. And just a heads up, there were some good deals on combos like the 12600KF with a solid motherboard and power supply, but they may be sold out now—still worth checking if you can find one!
You definitely have some good options! The Intel 12th-14th gen CPUs can work with either DDR4 or DDR5 depending on your motherboard. The 12700K could outperform the 5800X, and that gives you flexibility for potential upgrades later if you decide to switch to DDR5.
For DDR4, the Ryzen 7 5800X is a solid choice. If you're considering Intel, the 14th gen with the Intel 14600KF and a DDR4 motherboard could be really beneficial as well. Both options would give you a good performance boost without needing a complete overhaul of your existing components.
The Intel 14600 is really the most practical choice for your situation. It’s just a bit faster than the 5800X3D for gaming and handles high-thread workloads better, which could be great for video editing too!
