I've been trying to install DBAN on my flash drive using macOS for a few hours now. I have the ISO file, but whenever I use balenaEtcher, I get a 'missing partition table' error or something along those lines. I proceeded anyway, but my Mac won't recognize the flash drive when I try to boot from it. Additionally, I attempted to create the bootable flash drive via Terminal, and while it took some time, it still isn't recognized during boot. I can't burn a CD since I don't have a drive or any CDs on hand and would prefer to avoid extra costs right now. I burnt a DBAN CD a few years back without these issues, so I would really appreciate any assistance.

Yeah, DBAN is not ideal for Macs with SSDs. You’d likely face issues like this again if you keep trying to use it.
DBAN is pretty outdated, especially for SSDs in modern Macs. If you're trying to securely erase your Mac's drive, maybe consider other options that are designed for SSDs? Also, what’s your main goal with using DBAN?
Honestly, you might want to skip DBAN altogether. ShredOS is a better choice these days! It's designed to work well with modern machines and is more user-friendly. Might save you the headache you’re going through right now.

Gotcha! Any specific reason why ShredOS is better? And do you think I’d run into the same issue with it?
