What Are the Safe Temperature Ranges for a 4070 Super?

Hey everyone! I'm trying to figure out if the temperatures on my RTX 4070 Super are safe. I'm currently using the base driver fan curve without making any adjustments in MSI Afterburner. Here are my specs: PNY RTX 4070 Super 12GB and Intel Core Ultra 265k. I've tested it on some games like RDR2, Far Cry 6, Robocop Rogue City, and RE4R. The max temps I've seen while playing are around 78-79°C, and the fan typically hits about 2000 RPM. Is this normal and safe? Coming from console gaming, I'm a bit worried about the noise levels since my PC sounds as loud as my old console sometimes!

You might want to check the hotspot and junction memory temps too. There might be more to your cooling setup than just average temps.

Good point! I haven’t checked those. Can I see them in MSI Afterburner?

Those temps are acceptable, but mine usually stays under 65°C without much noise due to the default fan curve. What's your case's airflow like?

You’re good until around 90°C, then you might have an issue. It sounds like your temps are warm but still within the acceptable range.

78-79°C is perfectly fine for your GPU!

My Gainward Ghost 4070 Super runs similarly at 76-79°C, and even up to 82°C in summer. You're in the same range and that's just fine!

Your temps are totally fine! Don't sweat it until you hit around 90-95°C. The RPM is fine as long as you're okay with the noise level.

That's a relief! Coming from consoles, I get nervous when the fans get loud like that.

Not bad at all! It seems like your airflow might be a bit low since my setup rarely even hits 70°C. What case are you using?

My case is from a pre-built; it has triple fan intake in the front and a single fan exhaust with a dual fan AIO.
