I recently upgraded my PC setup from an AM4 to AM5 platform. I did a fresh install of Windows, updated all the GPU and chipset drivers, and even performed a BIOS update. My previous configuration included an AM4 Ryzen 7 5700G, an Asus Prime B550-Plus motherboard, and 32GB of Corsair Vengeance DDR4 RAM. Now, I've moved to an AM5 Ryzen 5 7600X3D, a ROG Strix B650-A motherboard, and downgraded to 16GB of Corsair Vengeance RAM. I kept my 9060XT 16GB GPU and both SSDs the same. After this upgrade, I've noticed that when playing Code Vein 2, the game is lagging a lot and sometimes stutters, which even causes dialogue to skip. I'm looking for advice on things I should check. If it's a RAM issue, I'm considering returning it to get 2x16GB. Also, if the CPU isn't powerful enough, I might upgrade to the 7800X3D. Typically, I have HWiNFO running in the background along with some smaller apps like Discord.

Your new setup should definitely handle gaming better than your previous one. Here are a few things to check:
1. Make sure Expo/XMP is enabled in your BIOS; this can significantly improve RAM performance.
2. Confirm you're using both RAM sticks in the correct slots as per your motherboard manual; this could affect speed.
3. Double-check that your monitor is connected to the GPU, not the motherboard.
4. Go into your graphics settings and ensure your game is set to use the GPU.
5. If you have two monitors, keep HWiNFO64 and Task Manager open on the performance tab to monitor CPU, RAM, and temp during stutters.
6. Lastly, check for any background programs running that might be hogging resources, such as Asus Armory Crate or RGB apps.

I didn’t have Expo enabled right away either, and it made a huge difference once I did. Also, check if your game is locking to 60FPS can sometimes cause issues, especially with variable refresh rates affecting the gameplay.
