Need Help Choosing a GPU and PSU for My First PC Build

I received some parts from my brother to build my first PC, and I'd love some advice on what I need to get started. He gave me a motherboard (x570s tomahawk max wifi), 32GB of RAM, a case (montech air 903 max), a 2TB SSD (WD SN850X), and a CPU (5800X). He mentioned that I just need to grab a GPU and a PSU to complete the setup. I'm a bit out of my depth here and would like to keep my total budget for the GPU and PSU around $300, if possible. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Honestly, you're in a great spot with that build! If you're flexible on the GPU and can look at used options, the 3060 Ti is a worthwhile choice. It’s been a reliable performer for many gamers. Just remember to check the PSU ratings since a failing unit could take other components with it. Spending a little more here is a good investment.

What kind of gaming performance are you aiming for? Since you're upgrading from an Xbox One, targeting 1080p at around 60 FPS in AAA games and 120+ FPS in esports titles sounds reasonable. But just a heads up, your $300 budget for both a GPU and PSU might be tight! You might have to look into used options to get the best value for your money.

That's a solid build you’ve got! For the PSU, I recommend something in the 750W-850W range, preferably from an A or B-tier list to ensure safety and reliability. A good choice might be the MONTECH CENTURY II - 850W, usually around $80. As for the GPU, you could find a used 3060 Ti for about $220, which should deliver excellent performance for your needs.
