Hey everyone! I'm based in Los Angeles and I'm eager to kickstart a career in tech. I'm specifically looking for recommendations on schools or training programs that can get me ready for a tech job in roughly 6 to 10 months. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Honestly, I’d say skip the bootcamps. A lot of them can be super pricey and they often teach things you could learn for free or at a low cost. If you're looking to break into tech within 6 to 10 months, I suggest you choose one specific path, like web development or data science, and dive deep. Use resources like freeCodeCamp, The Odin Project, or CS50 on YouTube to build a strong foundation. Then focus on creating real projects to showcase your skills—employers care more about what you can do than any bootcamp certificate. If you want a bit of structure, consider a free program like 100devs or even a community college certificate, which is way more affordable than a bootcamp. Most people I know who got into tech started by building projects and networking, not just by flaunting a bootcamp name on their resumes.

But that was a while back. Even with a degree, breaking into tech seems tougher than ever now.
