I've noticed that my Ethernet connection has been slower than my WiFi for a while now. I've ruled out issues with my Ethernet cable and router since I recently got a new cable, and my brother uses the same router without any problems on his Ethernet connection. In fact, my WiFi consistently performs better in terms of video streaming and online gaming. Just to clarify, I'm using a Cat6 Ethernet cable which should work well with my desktop. Anyone have an idea what might be going wrong?

It could be a bad Ethernet cable or one that isn't rated for your speed needs. Check your drivers again or see if there's an issue with how you're testing your connection to the server. I have a WiFi 7 card in my laptop, and it pulls faster speeds, but I still find that my Ethernet gives me better consistency and lower ping times.
What specific issues are you experiencing? Are you seeing low speeds, high latency, or packet loss? Knowing more about your situation will help narrow things down. Also, what network card do you have? If it’s integrated into your motherboard, make sure the drivers are current. And you might want to check your link speed to confirm it's hitting 1000mbps.
It sounds like the issue might be related to your network adapter. Have you checked if your drivers are up to date? Sometimes, there are settings that can limit speeds, like dropping down to 10Mbit. That could definitely mess with your speeds!
I've checked, and all my drivers are up to date, plus nothing seems to be limiting it.
I’m dealing with a mix of low speeds, latency, and some packet loss. My setup includes a Realtek PCle GbE Family Controller.
