I'm currently weighing my options between the AZ-104 and AZ-800/801 Microsoft certifications. I'm curious to know from anyone who's taken these or hired people with them, which certification you think is more recognized in interviews. Also, I'm interested in which one provides more practical, transferable knowledge once you've passed. While I know AZ-104 is largely cloud-focused, the AZ-800/801 is more centered around on-premise skills like DNS, DHCP, and file servers. Which certification do you think builds a stronger foundation overall? For context, I have a year of help desk experience at a FAANG company.

It really depends on what kind of role you're aiming for. If you see yourself working in more cloud environments, I'd recommend going for the AZ-104 first. Then maybe look into the AZ-500 and AZ-140 certifications afterwards to build a solid cloud foundation.
That’s a good point! I’ve been checking job listings, and sometimes it seems employers want a broader set of skills rather than focusing just on certifications. I'm looking to build my knowledge for a sysadmin role while I prepare.
