Help! My GPU Keeps Crashing and Freezing During Games

Hey folks! I'm having a strange issue with my PC and could really use some help. Here's my setup:

- **CPU:** AMD Ryzen 5 5700x3d (previously Ryzen 5 5600X)
- **Motherboard:** MSI B550-A Pro
- **RAM:** 32 GB DDR4-3600
- **Old GPU:** Radeon RX 6600 XT (caused system restarts during gaming)
- **New GPU:** NVIDIA RTX 5060 Ti (freezes and blackscreens, especially in World of Warcraft)
- **PSU:** be quiet! Straight Power 11, 650W, 80+ Gold, about 4-5 years old
- **Case:** NZXT H510 Flow
- **Cooler:** EKL Ben Nevis

The entire system, except for the 5700x3d and 5060ti, was built in 2022.

**So what's happening?**
- The old AMD GPU caused full system restarts and I got a driver timeout error, so I switched to the new NVIDIA 5060 Ti. Unfortunately, that's now freezing and causing blackscreens, predominantly during gaming. I'm seeing errors logged with Event ID 153 and 13
- Both GPUs only seem to have issues under load, particularly when I'm playing WoW. I haven't enabled overclocking on anything.

**What I've done so far:**
- Cleaned and switched out the drivers for both GPUs, using DDU to fully remove old drivers.
- Changed the GPU (the 5060ti is only about 5 days old).
- Ran temperature tests during gaming; temps averaged around 60C, peaking close to 70C.
- Tested the RAM with Windows Memory Diagnostic.

**Now, I'm at a loss!**
I haven't figured out the source of the problem. Could it be due to my older system components? Is it a driver issue? Should I consider upgrading to a new power supply, like a be quiet! Straight Power 12 750W? Also, I'm curious if Windows 11 might be part of the issue since my logs indicate some Windows-related problems. Did I accidentally damage the new GPU while cleaning my case with high-pressure air?

I'd appreciate any insights or advice as I'm worried that I might have ruined my graphics card.

Have you checked if your motherboard BIOS is up to date? Sometimes outdated BIOS can cause compatibility issues, especially with new GPUs. If you haven't, try updating it and see if that helps with the freezing and crashing.

Yeah, I updated the BIOS just 2-3 weeks ago when I swapped the CPU, so it should be the latest version available.

It could also be related to the power supply, especially if it’s getting older. If you have the budget, consider swapping it out for a newer model, especially if it's showing signs of wear and tear.

Definitely check if your 5060 Ti needs a firmware update too. There’s a firmware update tool for it that might help with the black screens. Sometimes, manufacturers release updates that fix these specific issues!

I already did that! The firmware update is complete and I'm still having issues.
