Looking for advice on building a new gaming PC on a budget

Hi everyone! My old lockdown gaming PC has finally given up, and I'm on the hunt for a new one. My budget is around £950, and I'd prefer financing options. I can assemble the PC myself and would like to go with an Nvidia GPU. I mainly play games like Ark, Fortnite, and Valorant, so I prioritize performance and longevity over aesthetics. I'd appreciate any help in crafting a build since I want to avoid prebuilt systems. Thanks a bunch!

No worries, I totally get that! If memory serves, it sounds like you had a B550 motherboard, 8GB of DDR4 RAM, an Nvidia 1060, and a Corsair PSU. To improve your performance, upgrading to a 4070 would be awesome if you can swing it. Otherwise, check the used market for a solid deal on a 3060 or 3070.

Definitely update your BIOS before making any swaps! And if you’re looking for a cheaper build route, check this link: [PCPartPicker Build](https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/qfvr6B). It’s a solid upgrade path sticking with Nvidia.

Check out this potential build: [PCPartPicker Build](https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/NbKw6B). It should run games smoothly at 1080p ultra or 1440p at medium/high settings. Let me know if you have any questions about it!

For your budget, consider looking into mini PCs. They can be surprisingly powerful and still fit within your financial constraints. There are some great recommendations out there on YouTube!

Just a heads up, DDR5 RAM could set you back quite a bit—like £200-500 depending on what you choose. It’s probably not the best time to build a new PC from scratch. Have you checked out Facebook Marketplace or refurbished options? They might save you a bit of cash!

If you have details about your old system, sharing that could help folks give you the best upgrade suggestions. Things like your motherboard, CPU, RAM, GPU, and PSU would be really helpful!
