Is the RTX 5070 and Ryzen 5 5600 a Good Combo for Gaming?

Hey folks! So, I just upgraded from an RTX 2070 Ti to an RTX 5070, pairing it with my Ryzen 5 5600. I found the new GPU at a price close to MSRP, but I've seen mixed reviews about this combination. I know there will be some bottlenecking due to the CPU, but I plan to upgrade that soon as well. My question is, will I still be able to achieve playable FPS (60+) at 1080p or 1440p with this setup?

Honestly, your combo should handle most modern games quite well. The biggest concern will be achieving high frame rates in demanding titles, but for casual play, you're in a good spot. It might be worth checking the return policy just in case!

I think I do have a return window. I’ll play around with it and see how it performs before deciding!

Upgrading your GPU to the RTX 5070 is a solid move! The Ryzen 5 5600 might hold you back a little depending on the games you play, especially at 1080p, but at 1440p, the bottleneck shouldn't be too noticeable. If you're not aiming for super high FPS in competitive titles, you should be just fine with most games running smoothly. Honestly, you might not even need a CPU upgrade right away; just tweak your game settings if necessary.

Thanks for the input! I was worried my CPU would ruin my gaming experience, but it sounds like I can play comfortably in the meantime.

The RTX 5070 is decent, and your CPU should handle things well enough up to a point. You're looking at around 60+ FPS on most games at 1440p, especially with some settings adjusted. Just make sure you're playing on a stable internet connection if you're gaming online to avoid any bottlenecking issues there!

Gotcha! I actually mainly play solo games, so I should be good without worrying too much about internet stability.

I wouldn't stress too much about the bottleneck! The Ryzen 5 5600 is pretty capable for gaming, and most players won't notice a big performance dip at 1440p. If you do experience frame drops, just lower some settings a bit. Plus, there are plenty of optimization guides out there to get the most out of your setup without tweaking BIOS settings.

Good to know! I usually focus on single-player games, so I'll keep an eye on performance but won’t stress over it too much.
